Lynn,

One of the books missing from your list is Life of Pi. I haven't read it yet and was hoping the group hadn't either but was told you had. The group has read a lot during the years. Glad to be a part of the group, I have really enjoyed it.

Thanks, Lisa

First I want to reply to Lisa, we didn't ever read Life of Pi in book club. Many of us have read it and it may have been on the suggested reading list but we never reviewed it in book club. It would have made for an interesting discussion.

I also wanted clarify this section of the blog. These books have been read by members of book club and recommended for this section. They may not have thought them worthy of a recommendation for book club, or most likely we just didn't have time to read them during the year.

The schedule for the early part of 2008 -2009 is almost done. Watch for an invitation to the blog spot as it soon will become private.

I may be doing this wrong but, a book I recently read and enjoyed was "Funny in Farsi” it is a enjoyable memoir of the authors life growing up as an Iranian in orange county. She humorously tells what her life was like before and after the 1980 hostage crises in Iran. The book is funny and cleverly written.

I just added another book which may be a good read for book club. It was suggested by my 15 year old granddaughter, Audrey. I thought it was excellent - The Book Thief by Zusak. If you read it let me know what you think. Lynn
